Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland
Just noticed there are no BAME players in this game.

That is unusual.

The only black person involved is the Sheffield Wednesday manager.

That is even more unusual.

I am interesting.

It's a brilliant watch, and I ended up feeling very sorry for the Sunderland supporters. Having to put up with Rodwell collecting 70k a week for nothing followed by Maja being sold under the table was ghastly.

Worth pointing out that permission to film was only granted by the American owner to help him sell Sunderland.

Know-nothing wanker.

Trunds.

Agree, STID is a great watch, basket case of a club at the time and hard not to think that at times they havnt deserved the support they have got.

Was pretty mad seeing Behrahino, Jack Clarke and Patrick Roberts in a league one play off game. All tipped for big things not so long ago.....Roberts was meant to be a England regular by now. Could even add Alex Pritchard to that list.

Sunderland Til I Die is a must watch for all football fans.

It's mental how they were run.

They seem like proper diehards- just like when Man City were pulling in big crowds in the third tier. One of the big reasons I don't begrudge them their success now, unlike the fairweathers at the likes of Chelsea.

I moved to Sunderland last summer. Been to a few games at the SOL. Crowd is always 30k+ (in the third division) and always a brilliant, noisy atmosphere.

Glad to see them win. I've always disliked Sheffield Wednesday for some reason, and have got a massive soft spot for Sunderland since Sunderland Til I Die was a thing and seen all the crazy shit their loyal fans have suffered through. Seven consecutive losses at Wembley until last year is an extraordinary record.

Really hope they win the playoffs.

Lost out on my 'build a bet' Paddy Power acca as Sheffield Wednesday couldn't get more than three shots on target... in a wild moment of optimism I said they would get 4... Wednesday only have themselves to blame and didn't deserve to get through.

If the first half hadn't been so dreary and turgid I probably wouldn't have noticed it.

Iv'e never heard anyone else say the game is becoming a 'black sport'. If thats your view then fair enough, you're entitled to it.
As for black managers on the increase,i'll be surprised if there are as many as 10 throughout the whole of the football league.
And i really am stuck to think of a West Ham 11 that was almost a completely black team.

Whenever I watch a game of football I can honestly say I never notice the colour of the players? Its meaningless to me, same as going to the Supermarket, Pub, Restaurant, I don’t have a look and think not many black people here? Or loads of black people here!

Society needs to get over this colour of skin obsession; perhaps if they did it would be a better world.

What's baffling? Just something I noticed, like the OP posting about the Sunderland game. So thought it was relevant.

Unless you're on a (very poor) fishing trip.

I have noticed that there has been.a bit of a decline in black players in general. A while ago it looked like football was becoming a black sport with some teams like Palace and even West Ham putting out almost completely black teams. I wonder what is behind that especially as it is coming at a time when black managers are on the increase.
